πͺ FULL PAGE β "GEN. MILES'S WINTER CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE INDIANS" β NINE SCENES
A full-page illustration of nine scenes from General Nelson Miles's winter campaign against Native American tribes on the northern Plains β a significant piece of American Indian Wars history. Miles's winter campaign of 1876-1877 was part of the Great Sioux War following the Battle of the Little Bighorn, and his aggressive winter pursuit of Sitting Bull's followers was decisive in forcing the eventual surrender of the Sioux. A primary document of one of the final chapters of the Indian Wars on the northern Plains.
π CENTERFOLD β "SKETCHES ALONG THE ROUTE OF THE PANAMA RAILROAD"
A centerfold spread of sketches documenting the Panama Railroad β the first transcontinental railroad in the Americas, completed in 1855, connecting the Atlantic and Pacific coasts across the Isthmus of Panama. The railroad was of enormous strategic and commercial importance, carrying passengers and freight between the two oceans before the Panama Canal existed. A significant piece of American transportation and Central American history.

βͺ DOUBLE-PAGE β "THE YORK MINSTER, ENGLAND"
The visual showpiece of the supplement β a magnificent double-page engraving of York Minster, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Northern Europe and the seat of the Archbishop of York. The Minster's soaring towers, ornate facades, and intricate Gothic stonework are rendered with extraordinary architectural precision across the full double-page breadth of the supplement. An exceptional piece of Victorian architectural illustration and British heritage art β dramatic, detailed, and very well suited for framing.
π NINE-PANEL PAGE β "ALMSHOUSE SKETCHES β AMERICAN POOR"
A nine-panel supplement page documenting life in an American almshouse (poorhouse) β admission scenes, dormitory interiors, dining and work areas, figures at looms and workbenches. A significant and rarely seen piece of Victorian American social documentary illustration, capturing the institutional treatment of poverty in the Gilded Age with unusual directness.
