The original gouache painting for this centerfold — signed and dated by Frost, bearing the stamp "Copyright 1898 Harper & Brothers" — was sold at Neue Auctions on August 27, 2023, confirming this as one of the artist's most documented and collectible golf works. The Old Print Shop of New York lists this print as a sought-after collectible. A.B. Frost is best known today for his sporting illustrations, his Uncle Remus illustrations for Joel Chandler Harris, and his studies under Thomas Eakins at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
